Performance management, as the central part of the human resource system of the enterprise, is the key to achieve the strategy goal and to enhance the core competitiveness, has received attention by an increasing number of business. In China, influenced by the late-starting operation, only a small part of business has initially built the perfect and efficient performance management system.The coal industry in China is facing transformation, in an environment of strengthening inner management and improving benefit. In 2008, the XT Company initially established its performance management system, and did a series of research to explore it. Since the shift from building project to production and business, the frequent change of senior leadership, and the shortage of professional theory and practical experience, the present performance management system has all kinds of problems, such as the lack of organic connection, unreasonable design for departmental performance indicator, nonexistent employee performance management, and futile use of evaluation result, etc. If these problems cannot be solved, the XT Company would not efficiently exert effort to performance management system, get advantage in the increasingly competitive coal-chemical industry, and make contribution to the transformation of the group company.This thesis carefully analyzes the major problems of the performance management of XT Company, and put forward several appropriate solutions accordingly, intending to improve the inner management level and increase benefits. Besides, as a coal-chemical business, XT Company also shares certain characteristics with other coal enterprises, in terms of the problems of performance management. Thus, the solutions proposed by this paper would be helpful to the coal-chemical business of China, to improve level of operation and management of those companies, and to implement the strategic transformation of the coal industry of China.
