As a model of general contracting project EPC general contract mode has become the mainstream of large international construction projects. with the downturn in both international and domestic construction market, [2003] No.30 built the City " guidance on the cultivation and development of engineering general contract and project management enterprises ", [2015] No. 10 built the City " opinions on the further promote of the development of general contracting project " proposed "project general contract is the international construction project organization and implementation; it can also promote the development of general contract, to deepen the reform of the organization and implementation of the important content of China’s construction projects, and it is an important measure to improve the level of construction management, an important way to enhance the enterprise comprehensive strength and international competitiveness." Cost management of EPC general contract project mode has become a major issue of domestic enterprises need to solve. Because the EPC general contracting model contract amount is fixed, if the employer does not put forward to change the situation, the total amount of the contract is not to make any changes; cost management determines the project’s profit to a great extent. This paper analyses the difference between the EPC general contract mode and the traditional mode of cost management of project. The main purpose of EPC project cost management is to achieve the project budget target, realize the organic integration between design, procurement and construction team, reduce the waste of resources of intermediate links, to reduce the project cost, achieve the desired objectives of profit.In this paper, through research on cost management of a EPC general contract projects that undertaken by the Yunnan Construction Engineering Group Co. Ltd, the cost of the project from the perspective of the Contractor from the tender stage, design stage, construction stage and settlement, purchase stage those five stage for further analysis, through collecting data, analysis of the data, combined with the method of earned value analysis and comprehensive cost management method for EPC general contract project cost management and puts forward the corresponding measures, continuously improve the EPC general contract management system of this enterprise, the realization of the project cost management goal, the risk prevention in the course of implementation of the contract, provide the reference for other company’s EPC general contracting model of project.
