Iron ore is one of the most important raw material of iron and steel industry, in recent years, steel raw fuel supply and demand pattern is reversed, prices fell sharply, the entire steel industry is facing a loss or profit ability is bad situation. Iron ore is a kind of cheap raw materials, logistics costs account for a large proportion of the total cost of iron ore, high logistics cost of China’s iron and steel industry not only weakened the competitiveness in the international market, but also not conducive to the health of the national economy, fast, coordinated development. In the iron ore import logistics system in the current transport capacity and freight demand is high, how to optimize the logistics resource allocation, improve the logistics efficiency, reduce the cost of logistics and transport is very important. In this paper, according to the Yangtze River Basin in the iron and steel enterprises to import iron ore logistics characteristics, in-depth study of the current situation of the Yangtze River Basin import iron ore logistics, process and cost, analyzes the characteristics of the common logistics model, through the empirical case of the Yangtze River basin to import iron ore from the port of discharge to the logistics process of each scheme in iron and steel enterprise cost variance calculation so as to get the optimal scheme, logistics, and by using the principle of logistics integration, effectively demonstrated and summarized the effective method, summed up the Yangtze River to import iron ore to reduce logistics cost, improve operation efficiency, reduce logistics costs by continuously to increase enterprise competitiveness and profitability, in order to make a certain contribution to enhance the competitiveness of iron and steel enterprises and also provide some useful reference to solve similar problems in iron and steel enterprises.
