Since the 2008 financial crisis, the economic status of knowledge is becoming more and more important. Many countries in the world have put forward scientific and technological innovation and industrial structure adjustment strategy, striving to occupy a favorable position in the new round of technological innovation and industrial upgrading. The competition in areas such as market, technology, standards, personnel and service outsourcing are much more intense. In this international environment, China’s economy is facing the difficulties of upgrading of manufacturing industry, unbalanced structure, and underdevelopment of service industry. So, if we want to be able to occupy a space in the new international competition, develop the producer service industry which has “push” function has become an important choice.Based on the existing domestic and international research results, we study from the concept of producer services, analysis the evolution process of producer services in the production system systematically, study the motivation of the external development of the producer services and the servicing trend of manufacturing. Then we analyze and summarize the correlative mechanism between manufacturing and producer services with the method of normative analysis, Input-output analysis, and the panel data analysis method. Find that China’s producer service industry is still in demand following position, the correlative relationship between manufacturing and producer services is weak, but there is a kind of technical spillover mechanism between them. We also find that the producer services industry has a role in promoting the manufacturing industry and the manufacturing industry has a leading role on the producer services industry.
