Generally speaking, the international trade of agricultural products of Thailand has castinfluence on the reputation of the country in the world. In recent years, Thailand hasstrengthened the supports for the agricultural development, and in order to ease thecompetition in the international market, efforts have been made to constantly raise thecompetitiveness of the agricultural products of Thailand. Being a country with a bigagricultural economy, Thailand has scored a fast development in trade with other CAFTA(China-ASEAN Free Trade Area) countries, pacing with the global trade that has alwaysrequested Thailand of adapting to it actively and encouraging export further. As for thefarmers of Thailand, self-improvement is still a must and the competitiveness of theirproducts is also in need of a further sharpening, so that the fierce international competitioncan be satisfyingly met. Therefore, expounded hereafter in the essay is the illustrative analysis on thecomparative advantages of agricultural products of Thailand in the regional market of theCAFTA. Included in the analysis are the, issues of expanding the market for exportedagricultural products, of raising the products’quality and of enlarging their occupancy in theregional market of CAFTA, combed and concluded along the ways called shift-share analysis(SSA) and revealed comparative advantage theory (RCA). Then making the suggestion tostable trade relations among relevant countries,to promote Thailand agriculturalproducts thatexport to developing countries,to deal with intense internationalcompetition, to achieve long-term development ofThailand agricultural products trade,tosolve the export volume of agricultural exports in market decline period problem, and toimprove Thailand agricultural products strategies in CAFTAregion; for exampleincreasing and expanding theinternational supply ofagriculturalproducts,improveproduct’s international competitiveness,improve international market share,guarantee quality, improve competitiveness,improve package, improve advertising and maintain price stable of agricultural products.
