With the rapid growth of China’s economic construction, the housing industry has also ushered in a period of rapid development. The traditional development mode of the housing industry clearly exist some problems, such as low resource utilization, low production efficiency, low skills, and some quality problems. The current market has become increasingly diversified, and residents are moving into individual consumption stage. Consumers pay more attention to personality characteristics of the product, hoping to show themselves and achieve spiritual satisfaction by shopping. Providing customers with personalized products and improving customer satisfaction has become a essential trend of modern enterprise competition. In order to achieve the optimal allocation of resources for housing construction, to ease the supply shortage, to make the housing industry change into efficient and economical form, to provide consumers with personalized merchandise at any time, and to occupy a place in the fierce market competition, researching new production management model has very important significance.Mass customization enables enterprises to provide products to meet customer’s Individual needs and better to adapt to rapid changes in the market. It is good for long-term survival and development of enterprises. Mass customization will become the inevitable choice and the main direction of China’s development of modern housing industry. Delayed construction is the most important strategic for achieving mass customization. Using delayed can not construct the non-main structure until grasp the order information. And then effectively building up components and modules to achieve custom homes can meet customer’s individual requirements. Because the research and study about the theory of delayed construction in the housing industry has just begun, it is necessary to further explore its development. This article discussed the concept of mass customization and the delayed construction theory associated with MC. It analyzes the feasibility and necessity of mass customization and delayed construction’s application in the housing industry. And it proposed barriers and implementation strategies when delayed construction was used in the housing industry at the environment of mass customization. This will provide a reference for the development of China’s real estate industry.
