After the18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the introduction of electricity reform program has become increasingly approaching footsteps, especially in the energy sector of the power industry to the dominant mode of socialist market economy should gradually replace electricity monopoly economy, the pace of the electricity market has become irreversible."Competitive bidding" as the primary form of power generation side of the electricity market is bound to a step by step implementation and improvement. Thermal power enterprises in order to meet the needs of reform and development, the potential to improve efficiency, reduce costs, we must establish a set of practical strategies to maximize competitive bidding business interests, provide the basis for competition in the electricity market. This text firstly introduced the definition, characteristics, types and trading modes of electric power market, This paper studies the composition of thermal power generation costs, calculate the marginal cost of electricity has nothing to do with fixed costs, the marginal cost of electricity generation by fuel costs, simplify consideration. To control fuel costs raised the lowest cost of electricity based on a mathematical model and using the moving average method combined with the seasonal variation coefficient to predict the unit coal consumption data, resulting in the marginal cost of power generation units. Finally, based on the marginal cost of electricity bidding strategy to provide a reference for the thermal power plant units offer to participate in the electricity market competition.
