A Research On Purchasing Management Improvement Of Huachen Engine Plant Based On Supply Chain Management

In21st century, the main competition among enterprises changes from competition between enterprises to the competition between supply chains. As a key link of connecting all the enterprises of a supply chain together, purchasing management has great potential to improve the operation efficiency, decrease the operation cost and enhance the core competiveness of enterprises and the whole supply chain. In such a background this article focuses on and researches the purchasing management improvement methods of Huachen engine plant. Based on studying advanced purchasing management theory under supply chain management environment, the advanced concepts of strategic purchasing and lean purchasing comprehensively, combining the theoretical research with the actual situation of the purchasing management of Huachen engine plant and referencing the purchasing management experience from world famous automotive enterprise, the author deeply analyses the purchasing management problems of high inventory level, high purchasing cost, long supplier development cycle and supplier performing not actively etc., finding the roots and finally giving the solutions based on professional purchasing technologies. The author puts forward constructive proposals of improving the purchasing management from five aspects, including controlling inventory effectively, strengthening purchasing cost management, strengthening supplier relationship management, establishing an information sharing system with customers and suppliers, conducting personnel training etc. and giving the concrete methods. Thus Huachen engine plant will improve purchasing management level and ultimately enhance it’s operational efficiency and core competitiveness. At the same time, this research is also a meaningful and useful exploration for practicing the modern purchasing management theory based on supply chain management in traditional state-owned automotive parts enterprise.
