As the rapid development of economic globalization and information technology,as well as increasing and diversification demand of client,now the model of competition of international shipping industry is gradually converted from focusing on price to service quality.The traditional management model has been unable to adapt to such changes.Many companies have reengineered their business processes to meet that conversion.H enterprise urgently needs such change to build up its unique advantage.This paper uses the case study method.Taking H company as the case,it is an organization with the operation model by chartering the general cargo vessel to carry breakbulk cargo in the market.Basis on how to meet the client's requirement on the largest extent,this paper analyzes the existing problems on the value chain of business process and the main business processes of H company There are five main problems are diagnosed.The first is the barriers among departments and poor communication;the second is lack of standard and professional operation management and employees deal with working only basis on experience in the past;the third is the information technology is very low and lack of information sharing platform;the fourth is duplication working and working is inefficiency;the fifth is too many communication channel with clients and the information clients get is blurred.The business process optimizing and reengineering on H company is explored in this paper.The reengineering of value chain business process and the main business processes are explored by using the method of EISA on business process design.The paper proposes the business process reengineering should focus on the following aspects.The first is breaking the barriers among the original departments so that the management mode is changed from the function-oriented to the process-oriented;the second is standardizing and professionalizing the operation of business process;the third is establishing the information sharing platform by taking the advantage of information technology;the fourth is eliminating the non-value added working and improving working efficiency;the fifth is unifying the channel to clients.After the business process optimizing and reengineering,some good results could be achieved in the elimination of barriers among departments,reducing the communication links,increasing working efficiency,improving the shipping quality and enhancing thestaff's awareness of customer service and so on.Hopefully,all that could be used as the universal reference for the similar small and medium enterprise.
