Measurement And Analysis Of The Opening Degree And Its Influencing Factors In The Northeast China

In the context of global economy relationship is being stronger and stronger, onedistrict or one country must choose to open up to the outside-world so that thecountry would achieve sustainable and rapid economic development. The study ofarea opening to the outside world is of great significance for regional economicresearch and development. Since Chinese government pushed the strategy ofrevitalizing Northeast China, the economic has gone through a new round ofdevelopment, and undoubtedly the development of openness is a vital key of theoverall economic development. As we all know, the northeast region has abundantnatural resources and superior geographic location, and in recent years, it hasgradually formed all-round, multi-level and wide-ranging opening pattern that alongthe border and the transportation routes. However, what is the actual degree ofopenness in the Northeast China,how about comparing the openness of the EastChina、Middle Area of China、West China and the Northeast China, how about theopenness of the three provinces in the Northeast China and what is the influencefactors on the openness. This paper mainly study the measurement of the openness ofthe Northeast China and the factors’ affecttion.Based on the analysis of development condition of opening up like foreign trade,FDI, economic cooperation and frontier ports, this paper constructs the index systemto measure the degree of openness in the Northeast China through principalcomponent analysis. Finally, this paper builds the random effect model and fixedrelation model, then empirical studies of the influencing factors anylysis of theopenness degree. The result shows that in recent years, the degree of opening to theoutside world in the Northeast China keeps stable and gain some development, andcomparing the three provinces tell us that LiaoNing Provinces comes first, then isHeiLongJiang Province, JiLin Province performs worst. Compared the other three areas in China of the degree of opening up to the outside world with the NortheastChina, the Northeast China’s degree is still in the lower level. The empirical analysisof the results shows that the economic development level of one district and theeducation level of the labor have positive impact on the degree of opening to theoutside world, and how much the government of one district intervene the localeconomic has negative impact on the degree of opening to the outside world. Ingeneral, the Northeast China’s degree of opening to the outside world should befurther improved. Finally, on the basis of these studies, this paper gives relevantadvice on promoting foreign trade, as well as FDI and international economiccooperation.
