Study On Status Development Strategies Of Vegetation Industry In Shouguang City

In the market-driven economy, industrialization refers to one industry or business adoptsthe business way marked by systematization, branding and large-scale, with the orientation ofmarket demand and the aim of obtaining economic benefit by specialized service and strictmanagement. Since the reform and opening-up is practiced, some get-well-first areas havespontaneously embarked on the road of industrialization by scale and specialty: Shenzhendevelops manufacturing and processing industry in the cooperation model—“front shop,back factory” with Hong Kong; Yiwu develops petty commodities industry by convenienttraffic condition and regional advantages; Qingdao develops highly competitive householdappliance industry under the lead of big enterprises, like Haier. The intensive and effectiveindustrialization development way has been proven the key and effective approach todeveloping regional economy in the practice of reform and opening-up.Shouguang City, Shandong Province has become “the Hometown of Vegetable in China”recently, with the tradition of growing vegetable. It is not only a key vegetable origin but alsoa crucial center for collecting, distributing and machining vegetable in Shandong. By the endof2013, the vegetable plant area has totaled840,000mu in Shouguang, with400,000winter-vegetable-greenhouses and120,000mu pollution-free vegetable plant areas with theyield of5ton vegetable per unit area. It is an important production base in Shandong Provinceand an influential vegetable industrialization base in China.At first, this paper reviews the domestic and overseas literature and introduces relevanttheories, and then studies the history and status quo of agricultural industrialization inShouguang. Secondly, on this basis, after it comparatively studies the vegetable industry basesin other provinces, such as: Langfang City, Hebei Province, Yuechi County, SichuangProvince, Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province and Jingyang County, Shaanxi Province, itsummarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the vegetable industry development inShouguang. The advantages of vegetable industry development in Shouguang include: goodnatural conditions and agricultural resources, sound infrastructure, basic human resources andstable sales distribution channels, early establishment of medium service system. While there are also disadvantages: not-yet-become priority brands, low capability to develop finevegetable breed, weak ability in vegetable deep processing, impeded import channels andimperfect control measures of vegetable products quality. In the end, with the social andeconomic conditions in Shouguang considered, it offers highly individualizedcountermeasures and suggestions to develop vegetable industry here: enhancing the brandbuilding, strengthening the development of fine vegetable breed, improving the ability ofvegetable deep processing, promoting foreign exchange through vegetable products exports,raising the security of vegetable quality and speeding up the specialization of vegetableindustry.
