Because of the good capacity for sustained development and better risk-resisting ability, the Tourism industry has become an important sector of a country’s economy. A lot of countries are actively developing domestic tourism resources, supporting the national tourism industry, as well as competing to the domestic and international tourism market.With the extent of China’s economic takeoff and external development continues to deepen,the China’s tourism has a rapid developing,travel trade services gradually become an important source of foreign exchange earnings.However, from the state of the world in terms of tourism development,China is just a big country,rather than tourism power,and the gap between China and tourism powers is huge.Therefore, on the base of the objective understanding of the status and trend of China’s tourism industry and the development experience of foreign travel powers,trying to explore new ways that have great important to improve the international Competitiveness of China’s tourism industry will be necessary and important.This paper selects tourism power-the United States as a comparison,and use the theory of industrial international competitiveness, the theory of national competitive advantage,the theory of sustainable development as guidance,comparative analysis of the course and current situation of China-US industry, tourism industry internationally competitiveness and other related concepts;secondly compare the status of China-US travel industry, analyzes development of China-US travel industry;thirdly form the performance and sources of competitiveness to compare the international competitiveness of China-US tourism industry,finally on the foundation of the experience the U.S.tourism industry development, to put forward a number of recommendations that can promote China’s tourism industry and improve Chinese international competitiveness.
