The construction industry is the pillar industry of the national economy, and it’salso a typical high consumption of resources and energy industry. The constructionindustry has a very important responsibility for the sustainable development of humansociety. Carbon emissions is mainly from energy consumption, and the rapiddevelopment of China’s economy not only consumes a lot of energy, but also led to arapid increase in carbon emissions. In recent years, with the continuous development ofsocial economy, the issue of carbon emissions in the process of prosperity anddevelopment of the construction industry caused by energy consumption is very seriousto be ignored. In particular, the "low-carbon economy" and "green building" havebecome a global hotspot. Under the premise of sustainable development, it is animportant economic and practical significance to research the relationship ofconstruction sustainable development and carbon emissions.Based on the development of China’s basic national conditions and industry andprevious studies, the thesis uses the entropy method to analyze quantitatively for thesustainable development level of China’s construction industry. From the perspective ofsustainable development, to make an empirical research on the relationship betweensustainable development and carbon emissions construction of in the past two decades.First, using the method of Granger causality test to analyze the causal relationshipbetween China’s sustainable development of construction industry and carbon emissions:the level of sustainable development in the construction industry is the cause of muchcarbon emissions. Then, based on the VAR model to analyse by the impulse response. Itfurther indicates the close relationship between the level of the sustainable developmentof the construction industry and the growth of China’s carbon emissions.And thesustainable development of the construction industry has a large positive infulence oncarbon emissions. Finally, based on theoretical description and empirical studyconcluded that the policy proposals for adapting to China’s sustainable development inthe construction industry.
