With the use of team as the basic unit of organizations and enterprises, especiallyfor decision-making and problem-solving tasks(Mathieu,Mayard,&Rappet al.,2008),the team especially team creativity research has been the focus of researchers. When itcomes to decision-making and problem-solving tasks, how to make use of diverseresources team members own efficiently has been coming the one of the key points ofbusiness administration.This study is trying to analyze, explain and promote team creativity with newangle-balance of team diversity. Following the logic of “balance of teamcreativity-team information elaboration-team creativity”, this study researched thedifferent expressions of team members during the team information elaboration andteam processes with different balance of team diversity. And the study found it how tofunction the team creativity with positive or negative influences.Applied experiment method with80teams’ datacollected from one universityand analyzed the relationship among balance of team diversity, team informationelaboration and team creativity. Main conclusions are as follows: team members inhigh balance of knowledge diversity teams are apt to express his or her own opinionsand ideas according to his or her knowledge background, which would enhance thewhole understanding of the team task, resulting in more creative solutions. This studyfound that the team information elaboration would mediate the positive relationshipbetween balance of team knowledge diversity and team creativity, while balance ofteam gender diversity cannot show any salient influence on it.This study enriches theory about team creativity and provides some empiricalsuggestions for business administration especially for team designation and creativity.
