The Application Of Total Quality Management In Jiliao Expressway Maintenance

The expressway maintenance is one important part of highway operation. Expressway mileage has been increased year by year recently in our country and the national highway system has been formed.While many expressway construction projects have been applied total quality management, but we generally pay more attention to rebuild than to maintain in the highway management., and not the good application of total quality management in the road maintenance.Now, therefore, the highway maintenance engineering are mostly exist "managerial slack, working snub" phenomenon. In order to avoid this phenomenon continued to spread, improve the quality of highway maintenance engineering, I think it is necessary to total quality management theory combined with the highway maintenance engineering.The thesis focuses on maintenance of Jiliao expressway and tries to apply the total quality management in it according to the present highway maintenance management of our country, learning the maintenance and management experience at home and abroad, combined with the actual maintenance management in the problems found in the work.This thesis is made up of five chapters. Chapter one is introduction, which shows the background and purpose of the study and the content and method of the it; Chapter two mainly explains the background, development and basic concepts of total quality management; Chapter three shows the current situation and revelation of maintenance management of expressway in China and abroad; Chapter four tries to show the current maintenance situation of Jiliao expressway and analyzes the reasons; Chapter five applies total quality management to the maintenance of Jiliao expressway. And Chapter five is main part of this thesis. The quality management system is set up based on the matrix organization according to the total quality management, aboard advanced management experience and the current maintenance situation of Jiliao expressway. The QC groups are found to fully apply the PDCA circulation methods in the daily maintenance. The new maintenance ideas are put forward and applied it in the daily maintenance,"preventive maintenance, timely maintenance, standard maintenance, fine maintenance" based on the advanced theory of total quality management. The PDCA circulation methods are applied to the daily maintenance.Two application examples are listed about total quality management in the daily maintenance of Jiliao expressway. The total quality management is applied to the management of the expressway maintenance to increase the management level by combining the theory with practice in the thesis. And it can improve the efficiency of expressway maintenance and save a lot of money and make the expressway work efficiently through analyzing the examples. This research can help us to boost our maintenance management level and improve the current maintenance situation. It can also be useful to other management works of expressways and other expressways.
