Research On The Relationship Between Industrial Structure And Economic Growth

The key feature of modern economic growth is industrial structure transformationwhich optimizes allocation of resources to boost economy. Located in the westernChina, Sichuan Province plays an essential role in the economic development ofWestern China. Therefore, the theoretical and practical significance stands out, asquantitative studies on the relationship between its industrial structure and economicgrowth is rare. After reviewing the relevant literature on this subject, we qualitativelyanalyzed the status of industrial structure in Sichuan.The thesis qualitatively analyzed the present situation and the change of industrialstructure of Sichuan province on the basis of the literature at home and abroad; andthen using VAR model and granger causality test on the relationship between theindustrial structure and economic growth of Sichuan province for empirical analysis,we can get the conclusion that there exists a long-term stable equilibrium relationshipbetween the industrial structure and economic growth of Sichuan province; And wecan find that the impact of the industrial structure on economic growth lag exists inreasonable range by using impulse response function analysis; Analyzing thecontribution of Thrice Industries of Sichuan province on economic growth andaffecting economic growth mode by regression model, the results show that currentlyin Sichuan the secondary industry contributes most to the economic growth, followedby the secondary and primary industry. And the Thrice Industries affect economicindustries in different ways. Additionally, the labor structure cannot meets therequirements from economy development. Therefore, industrial optimization might bepositive in spurring the economy status in Sichuan Province.
