Marketing plays an important role in the civil aviation and it is the important means to improve the competitiveness of civil aviation. With the diversity and personalization of customer demand and strong competition in civil aviation market, judging the future market by past experiences could not keep pace with the rapid development of aviation transport. Although marketing engineering provided a scientific and objective marketing decision method, it is no longer fit for explosive data growth and the data’s messy diversity and quick updating, so we must seek an analytical method based on big data to replace the traditional marketing engineering analytical method. Big data was the produce of the era and the treasure of enterprise development. Just as some scholars said,"who mastered the big data, that who will seize the new opportunities and the truth". Civil aviation has an inseparable relationship with the data, so how to use the data productively is more important. Therefore, the article will make an initial research on marketing engineering of civil aviation based on big data and analyze its thinking, methods and application. The research was studied by the following content.At the first step, the paper introduced the background and significance of this research, described the theories and methods of marketing engineering and explained the research’s main contents and scope.Secondly, the research analyzed the big data and introduced its definition and properities, then made "based on big data" meaning using methods of big data without its collecting, storing, disposing and so on. Then the analytical methods of big data were introduced emphatically in this research.Then it explained the thought of the civil aviation marketing engineering based on big data and introduced its application flow by graphical models, also illustrated for modeling analysis in detail.At the last of research applied civil aviation marketing engineering based on the big data to practical marketing problems, at the same time, using the example to compare analytical method based on big data and the marketing engineering analytical method.
