Electricity is related to people’s livelihood. Vigorous development of the electric power industry is the basic strategy of China’s economic development. It is not only related to social development, but also related to national economic security. In recent years, along with the sustainable and rapid development of China’s economy and the speeding up construction of power grids, power companies, although burdened with heavy construction tasks, gradually realize the centralized control of human, finance, material and other key elements of the enterprise in accordance with the requirements of operational control and management. New demands and challenges are put forward on the cost control of the equipment and materials procurement and storage and maintenance. The traditional logistics operation has been unable to meet the current needs of power companies, therefore there is urgent need to optimize the logistics system in accordance with the strategic objectives of the company, improving its logistics efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing the competitiveness of the company.In this paper, current logistics system of the Jibei Electric Power enterprise Limited was analyzed and the problems were identified including the lack of the thought of supply chain management, severe bullwhip effects in logistics demand, long time span of materials planning, the irrational warehouse arrangement, lack of integration of distribution function and low efficiency.To solve these problems, this paper improves northern Hebei Electric Power Co.’s logistics system from two aspects-purchasing subsystem optimization and storage subsystem optimization. In terms of procurement subsystems optimization, classified position from materials sourcing strategy optimization, quality control and material supplier selection four areas of northern Hebei Power Company supplies procurement subsystem optimization; in terms of storage subsystems, from the warehouse site selection and layout, inventory management control mode two aspects of northern Hebei power Company supplies procurement subsystems to optimize the design. Through research shows that among the various subsystems not exist in isolation, but rather related to each other, for the implementation of the logistics system optimization solutions, providing a basis for protection, thus ensuring the northern Hebei Electric Power Co. to reduce logistics costs and improve logistics efficiency to achieve goals at the same time, research in this article can provide a reference for the logistics system to optimize other power companies.
