Research Of Agricultural Production Efficiency In Jiangxi Province

Since ancient times, agriculture is always the foundation of our survival and development. But at present the foundation status of agriculture in our country is still relatively weak, the agricultural development speed is relatively lags behind. As a big agricultural province, the agricultural development of Jiangxi Province will directly affect the overall situation of economic and social harmonious development in the province.However, in the existing literature, scholars’ research perspective is mainly concentrated in national scope, which mainly research in the change and the influence factors of China’s agricultural total factor productivity, while for a region or a certain province agricultural production efficiency research, it’s relatively scarce, and the study of Jiangxi agricultural production efficiency is much rarer.So this essay focuses on the agricultural production efficiency in Jiangxi Province. It collects relevant data on the output value of farming, forestry, animal, husbandry and fishery in Jiangxi Province, the regional labour quantity of farming, forestry, animal,husbandry and fishery in Jiangxi Province, the total power of agricultural machinery,pesticide and fertilizer, effective irrigation area and the agricultural expenditure share of regional fiscal expenditure in 2003-2012. It studies on measuring the efficiency of agricultural production in Jiangxi Province by using the method of DEA and Morse index analysis.The results show that the provincial overall comprehensive technical efficiency is at lower levels, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency both do not implement the best level. This shows that in the period from 2003 to 2012, the efficiency of agricultural production in Jiangxi Province relies mainly on the improvement of technical efficiency,agricultural science and technology still does not play its role. This only shows that there is a big investment in agriculture in Jiangxi Province is currently redundant, irrational allocation of resources, science and technology to agriculture does not play a supporting effect. On this basis, the essay puts forward to achieve improvement of agricultural production efficiency in Jiangxi Province, which requires that agriculture infrastructure and irrigation and water conservancy facilities construction in Jiangxi Province should be strengthened, and technological innovation should be vigorously promoted. Meanwhile the government support of strengthening the management of agricultural materials should be intensified, the utilization of agricultural inputs should be improved, what’s more, the human capital should be strengthened and the labor quality should be promoted.
