As the rapid development of Less-than-truck-load transport (TLT) in our country, its market turnover is about 5000 billion, and the annual growth rate is 15 percent. However, LTL also has some problems, such as low degree of organization, low transport efficiency, higher transport costs. The drop and pull transportation is an advanced way of transport organization and essential means to enhance road transport efficiency. In October 2010, Ministry of Transport and National Development of Reform Commission (NDRC) issued the drop and pull transportation pilot work plan, carrying out the comprehensive drop and pull transportation pilot work. In April 2011, Ministry of Transport issued the Transportation’twelfth five-year’Development Plan, promoting the pilot project of drop and pull transportation, and exploring the transport operation mode. The drop and pull transportation will solve the shortcomings of LTL. To clear the space benefit and analysis benefit efficiency of the drop and pull transportation in LTL, this paper established a beneficial evaluation system and benefit evaluation model.First of all, on the basis of reviewing a large number of researches, this paper analysis the technical and economic features of the drop and pull transportation, and summarizes the beneficial influence factors of LTL. The paper constructs a beneficial evaluation system, includes 9 input indexes and 12 output indexes. Secondly, in order to evaluate the benefit of drop and pull transportation in LTL, the paper introduces the mode of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), determining the Decision Making Unit (DMU), input index and output index. Then, the paper selected 11 enterprises from the first batch of the drop and pull transportation. And using the beneficial evaluation model, this paper analyzed the beneficial valid, the influence of input index, and the causes of beneficial inefficiency. Finally, summarizing the main affecting factors of the the drop and pull transportation efficiency is the effect of station layout, the degree of information and transport management. And this paper put forward suggestions for improving operation.
