Comparison And Retrieval Of Land Use Classification

Classification reflects the extent of interdisciplinary research.A variety of factors led to different countries and organizations, different administrative departments using different land classification, and it’s very difficult to convergence. The national standard "Land Use Current Classification" applies to land management department only, although it has been better than before, but there are still many contradictions.This paper compares domestic and international land use classifications with "Land Use Current Classificaion". Through literature research method, comparative studies and so on,making an intensive study of the Japanese land use classification、"City Land Classification and Construction Standards"、 European and American’s major land use/cover classifications. Researching and summarizing their advantages and disadvantages. Meanwhile using interdisciplinary study, taking the selected land use classifications as database, programming the searching system of land use classifications. It is convenient to find land types required or similar land types in another land use classification. The main research harvests are as follows:(1) A detailed study of Japanese land use classification, proposing the enlightenment of the Japanese land use classification for China, building a new system of "Land Use Current Classification" based on Japan’s advantages.(2) Contrasting the "land Use Current Classification" and the "City Land Classification and Construction Standards" to get detailed points of difference and make a convergence approach, building their control table of land type.(3)Analysis principles and methods of the European and American’s major land classification, proposing a new method on Chinese land use classification.(4) Building a new system of "land Use Current Classification".(5) Programming the land use classification computer system for China and the other countries.
