The Relationship Between Health Human Capital And Regional Economic Growth Of China

Since reform and opening-up,the economic growth rate of China has accelerated significantly, China emerged as the world’s second largest economy in2010. However, contrast to the growth of economy, the disequilibrium of economic growth on different areas is becoming apparent. Human capital as an important factor to economic growth which has got widespread concern from management, economics and other disciplines since1960s. Nevertheless, Most scholars’research on human capital has focused on the education human capital, ignoring the effects of health human capital which as the foundation of other forms’human capital to economic growth.From the perspective of health human capital investment, the eastern, the central and western regions in China are taken as the research object in this article. We defined the health human capital after combing research literature of home and aboard, and summed up the mechanism of action about health human capital to economic growth. Secondly, this thesis analyzed the status of health human capital of the eastern, the central and western religions which from the level of health human capital investment, health care, the development health industry and so on. Thirdly, based on cobb-douglas production function to build economic growth model which contains health human capital, using the panel data which from2003to2012of three regions to analyze the health human capital investment how to affect the economic growth of different regions. The research results show that the education human capital is still the main factor of regional differences in economic growth, physical capital is very important to the regional economic growth, to the eastern, the central and the western regions, respectively, the impact of health human capital investment on their economic output is0.162,0.120,0.106, showing distinct differences. Finally, Based on the results of empirical analysis, combining the status of health human capital about different regions, we proposed some management policies and suggestions:(1) keep a watchful eye on health human capital accumulation, estabnish the society guarantee system;(2) Increase the investment of health human capital, improve the investment mix, reform the financial system of revenue&expenditure and health care system, concern and ameliorate the people’s well-being;(3) step up the health human capital investment on the midwest, use the function of finance transfer payment to cut down the disparity of regional economic growth;(4) hinge on local conditions, formulate and complete the policy of regional health human capital management, promote economic growth better.
