The Research On The Impact Of Economic Cooperarion Between Hunchun And Russia On Hunchun’s Economic Growth

The city of Hunchun was evaluated by Chinese government as one of the first batch of opening cities along the border, and the only "three zones merged as one" open-up cities in China. With the increasing degree of opening up of Hunchun, unprecedented achievements have been made on the aspects such as Hunchun’s trade with Russia and cross-border tourism. At present, Hunchun’s trade with Russia expands continuously, which not only promotes rapid economic growth of Hunchun, but also accelerates local development of investment attraction, tourism and project cooperation. The factors within economic cooperation between Hunchun and Russia have become the key factor which will influence Hunchun’s economic increase.This thesis takes an empirical research method analyzed the impact of economic cooperation between Hunchun and Russia on the economic growth of Hunchun. The GDP of Hunchun was chosen as the variable of interpretation. the trade between Hunchun and Russia, The immigration personnel with Hunchun and Russia, Russia’s investment in Hunchun as explanatory variables, using the eviews8.0 software, analyzed the model, through the unit root variables test, Johansen cointegration test and Granger causality test, the final conclusion is that Hunchun and Russia’s economic relationship remains good and Hunchun’s trade with Russia is a factor which influence Hunchun’s economic increase, but there still exists some problems such as the scale of Hunchun’s trade with Russia is small, imbalance between import and export trade, excessive trade surplus and so on; In addition, some aspects like tourism cooperation, project cooperation and investment between Hunchun and Russia are also proved to be influential factor to promote Hunchun’s economic increase. but the analysis shows that these factors have little effect in the short-term economic growth of Hunchun, but larger effect in long-term, it means that the economic cooperation between Hunchun and Russia has a long-term strategic significance and large space development. And there are many reasons for this phenomenon, which can mainly be summarized in the following:first, economic between Hunchun and Russia is affected by Russian political institution and economic system; second, Russian investment in Hunchun is small in scale indicates investment attraction is not sufficient, and Hunchun to Russia’s border trade district and industrial park have not become special zone yet; third, resource development of Hunchun to Russia cross-border tourism is insufficient, and the propaganda is not effective; forth, the channel to Russia is accessible but not smooth, and the port infrastructure and path construction need time to be perfected.To solve the above problems, the thesis put forward relative countermeasures and suggestions, the author considers that at first Hunchun should take full advantage of geographical advantage, natural resources and tourism resources, and strengthen measures to develop deeply cross-border tourism to increase tourism income so that to promote Hunchun’s economic increase; in the next place, actively construct economic and commercial platform to Russia, promote more exchange and communication between Hunchun and Russian government, reinforce support and service to Russian enterprise again, which create better cooperation condition for Hunchun’s trade with Russia; at last, take full advantage of border trade district and speed up to construct distinctive Russian industrial park, hereby to drive Russian investment in Hunchun and promote investment attraction.
