Research On Dynamic Capabilities Model And Case Analysis Of International Engineering Contracting Of Chinese Enterprise

International engineering contracting industry of China started from the early reforming and opening up. For over 30 years, the industry has developed rapidly. However, the development of it is not smooth. In recent years, since economic and political environment turmoil is around the world, parts of them have yet fully recovered from the last turbulence. Each country’s trade protectionism also increased the difficulty to transnational investment and construction. Volatile market environment on the one hand brought a challenge to the international engineering contracting industry, on the other hand put some problems toward Chinese enterprises:how to develop themselves for international engineering contracting enterprises of China and how to improve their own strength to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage in response to environmental changes.Dynamic capability theory was to respond to such a situation. Its meaning is enterprises make integration of various resources and change the original development path to restore the ability of internal and external competence in response to rapidly changing external environment. In short, it is the company’s ability to change their own ability. And the thought is just in line with the problem that international engineering contracting enterprises of China are faced with, no matter from the point of external environment volatility or their current situation, China’s enterprises need to enhance their ability to adapt to the severe international competition.This article first reviewed the current international engineering contracting and dynamic capability theory, and on the basis of which summarized the theoretical model of the existing theory of dynamic capabilities, and then build the four-order model of the dynamic capability of which dimension structure is more clear; Then, as a theoretical basis to discuss the development status of China’s international engineering contracting industry, with architecture of the four-order model, the paper made analysis of the performance of four orders of dynamic capabilities of Chinese international engineering contracting enterprises, and integrated its dynamic capability model; Then, the paper provided a case of Chinese enterprise as the analysis object of the comprehensive evaluation of dynamic capabilities, of which the dynamic performance level is obtained, and proposed the corresponding dynamic capability path of ascension; Finally, the paper put forward the research direction of the future subject, including simulation of dynamic capability of Chinese international engineering contracting enterprises, interaction between dynamic capabilities and environment volatility and system construction of application platform, etc.
