With the acceleration of urbanization process in China and the increasing demand for urban land, how to reduce the waste of land, ease the contradiction between supply and demand of land, improve the efficiency of land use, and realize the rational allocation of land resources in time and space, has become a hot issue in the current research of the scholars in our country. Taking the example of the central city of Nanchang, the research has determined the location and distribution in time and space of annual land supply of the central city of Nanchang by using the GIS software and adopting spatial overlay analysis and space-time positioning method of priority of land supply, combined with the quantity and space positioning principle of 2012 annual supply of land and priority supply sequence of land. The main conclusions of the research are that:(1) Through the analysis of land use planning, urban master planning, urban land grading and evaluation as well as the relationship between the potential evaluation for intensive use of urban land and land supply, the research proposes the "four map superposition method" as the primary method for determining the spatial distribution of land available for sale.(2) Determining the space-time positioning method of land supply, that is to say, a method of priority supply of land in the space and time. According to the constructed index system of the priority of land supply for different uses, the research determines the evaluation of total score for priority supply for the land available for sale by using multi-objective comprehensive evaluation method. The higher the evaluation of total score of land is, the more priority it is to be sold, which provides the method and basis for distribution in space of annual transferred land.(3)The results of the comparison between the theory and practice shows that: in the central city of Nanchang the distribution direction in space of transferred land for different uses is broadly consistent, but the position and area of transferred land in different areas of the city is different. Technical limitations, the restrictions of not comprehensive enough evaluation index of supply of land and the effect of behavior of local government is the main reason for this difference.
