Research On The Relationship Between Agricultural Modernization And Urbanization Of Anhui Province

In 2014, the central economic conference stressed the importance of the urbanization and agricultural modernization. Urbanization is an important engine for the economic development of our country, it is also the route where can realize modernization. Urbanization cannot break away from the "three rural issues",because peasant is subject, based on country, object is agriculture, while agricultural modernization is the key to solve the "three rural issues". Therefore, it is required to deeply understand the relationship between agricultural modernization and urbanization of Anhui province, and make them coordinated to accelerate economy growth.Firstly, this paper makes relevant knowledge of development economics and economic-geography as the theoretical basis, and list the specific mechanisms between agricultural modernization and urbanization, which lays a theoretical foundation for the full text. Then make description on the current situation of agricultural modernization and urbanization.and also make a statistical description on the relationship between agricultural modernization and urbanization. Then there is an empirical analysis on the relationship between agricultural modernization and urbanization, which including three parts: the first part, using Cointegration test, Granger causality test to test the long-run equilibrium relationship and causality. The second part, in the quantitative point of view, use the method of grey correlation analysis to test relevance between agricultural modernization and urbanization factors and find out the main factors. The third part, based on the results of the grey correlation analysis, try to find out what leads negative relation between agricultural modernization and urbanization of Anhui Province. Finally, provide some suggestions for the government in order to promote economy developing more sustainable.This paper draws the following conclusions: firstly, agricultural modernization of Anhui province lags behind urbanization. Secondly, there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between urbanization and agricultural modernization of Anhui Province. Urbanization is the granger reason of agricultural modernization in the early stage, while agricultural modernization is the granger reason of urbanization in the late stage. There is an inhibition relationship between them. Thirdly, the specific mechanisms of action of agricultural modernization to urbanization are related to urbanization closely, the degree of correlation factors is in turn: the labor supply, food production supply, increase farmers’ income, land supply; specific mechanisms of action of urbanization to agricultural modernization are related to agricultural modernization closely, the degree of correlation factors is in turn: increase education of farmers, technical support, land supply, financial support. Fourthly, low agricultural productivity and shortage of the pulling power of rural labor; the grain yield supply lags behind the development of urbanization; farmers’ low income and low purchasing leading the potential to expand domestic demand unreleased; farmers’ education level is low; lack of agricultural technology innovation and technology support; poor quality of cultivated land is the cause which leads inhibition between agricultural modernization and urbanization of Anhui province. Finally, put forward suggestions according to the results.
