The Digital Representation Of Dunhuang Culture And Tourists Experience Design

With the developing of information-based society, the research about the digitization of Dunhuang culture has obviously become a very important research orientation of Dunhuang Studies. The digital research on Dunhuang culture has achieved a lot in more than 30 years, and it also made great contributions to the protection, inheritance, dissemination, communication and exhibition of the Dunhuang culture. Especially, according to the characteristics of society and times and Dunhuang local characters, Dunhuang mogao grottoes digital exhibition center in 2014 realized the integrational development of Dunhuang culture, science technology and tourism. It also symbolizes that digital research of Dunhuang culture has entered a new stage.Based on the integrational development between Dunhuang cultural and digital technology, the second part of the article analyzes visual narrative of the digital representation of Dunhuang culture, and falls into two parts: visual elements and narrative content. The former mainly consists of color, shape and texture, and the latter is mainly composed of historical culture and recreation. Through a case study of digital representation of grotto murals—deer Bunsen—in Dunhuang mogao grottoes, the article demonstrates the visual narrative of the digital representation, and concludes the importance of the theoretical method in realizing the digital representation and expanding the transmission of the Dunhuang culture, and in exchanging and integrating with the digital age. To ease the problem of site protection and tourism development from the Dunhuang Yangguan to Yumenguan, the third part of the article depends on the visual narrative method, on the basis of protecting Yangguan and Yumenguan to their original state, with the help of tourists’ historical memory and cultural identity to Yangguan and Yumenguan, by utilizing digital technology such as cloud computing, Internet of things, mobile augmented reality and three-dimensional modeling, designs for Dunhuang Yangguan —Yumenguan Great Sites of the digital representation and travelling experience. That is to say,the architecture of smart travel experience system is omni-directional and three-dimensional. By treating the military culture and the Silk Road culture in Yangguan and Yumenguan as a theme for digital tourism product design and using the virtual and real, online and offline in combination, and some proposals of reality and virtual travel experience,smart travel service and tourism products are offered.The deeply integration of tourism, science and technology, and Dunhuang culture,provides a new way for digitally innovative development research of Dunhuang culture, and supplies a new thinking direction of improving tourism experience for wisdom tourism.
