| Vladivostok Port is one of the largest ports in Russian Far East Basin, Pacific Ocean and the main supply base for North Pole. It is located in the northwest coast of Golden Horn.Vladivostok Port is a traffic fortress, that has a very developed fishing port, commercial port, air and road transportation. Thanks to its way out to Asia, Vladivostok Port plays an important role in the international trade.Located in the city of Russian frontier, it is an administrative, industrial, cultural and commercial center, operating as Russia’s domestic, import and export goods. The import goods arrived by sea to the port are carried through railway and vehicle transport to final destination. In 2011, Russia joins the World Trade Organization (WTO), the foreign trade activity is frequent, thus growing amount of import and export goods through the port. Actual Vladivostok Port storage areas cannot satisfy the increasing requirement of the container turnover. Therefore, it is necessary to expand the port of the warehouse and improve port infrastructure, in order to raise the port container volume and turnover operation, further consolidating its transport hub status. The scope of this project is to study the berth status of Vladivostok Port, technical support and equipments that allow container handling; current calculation of container terminal throughput capacity shows that port has limited capacity. Three prediction methods will be used to calculate for future container turnover as Gray sequence model GM (1,1), Exponential smoothing and Combination forecast model. The results show in 2015-2020 predictable throughput capacity will exceed the current capacity of the port. The solution to this problem will go through the improvement of container handling, modernization and merging berths to Unified Container Terminal.Due to the port is located in the city center, it’s not feasible expand actual operation area. Therefore this dissertation proposes all operations including shipping documents, warehouse, railway loading and unloading, auto loading and unloading shall be moved to the "dry port". The establishment of "Dry port "will let to expand the area of the port, greatly increasing port throughput capacity. The proposed method will develop port’s container yard operations facility; berth merging and the establishment of the "dry port" will increase the operation of the port area and satisfy container turnover increased demand... |
