Research On The Evaluation Of International Competence Of Chinese Container Fleet

The shipping industry is an important part for economic development basis. It has an important role in promoting external trade development, industrial restructuring and upgrading, and maintaining national economic security, maritime rights and interests. In 2014, China first released from the maritime strategy from national level perspective, deployed the healthy development of the shipping industry, accelerated the promotion of the construction of sea power, and made some key tasks, such as optimizing shipping fleet structure, vigorously developing energy-saving, cost-effective shipping, actively developing container shipping fleet, improving the international competitiveness of container liner shipping. As the core of liner shipping companies, container fleet impact shipping liner shipping companies operating effect, so it is important to analyse container fleet.In the paper, it reseaches Chinese container fleet under the large environment of the international market. Through the analysis of the influence of the international shipping market on container fleet and container fleet’s own strengths and weaknesses, it discusses effective ways of improving container fleet’s competitiveness in the competitive international shipping conditions.Firstly, the paper introduces the research background and significance. Next, it describes relevant theoretical basis to provide a theoretical basis for later from three aspects, including international competitiveness theory, comprehensive evaluation of international competitiveness, as well as the basic information of the world’s container fleet. Then, based on the characteristics of container fleet competition and analysis of the effection of the international competitiveness of the container fleet, it combines with design principles of evaluation to get indicators which impact the container fleet’s international competitiveness, details analysis of selected indicators, and models chinese container fleet’s international competence. And it verifies the example using specific data of ten liner container fleet. The model applies fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to quantifing the qualitative indicators, and uses gray relational analysis to calculate the final ranking of liner shipping companies. Finally, based on the evaluation results, it gets some suggestions on enhancing the international competitiveness of Chinese container fleet.
