Along with the accelerating process of economic globalization, the domestic market and international market are getting closer and closer contact, food security is no longer just a problem within the country, but a strategic issue of how to utilize the international security market to make the domestic market stable in the context of the global agricultural trade. Under this background, a system analysis which was carried out on the food security problem and the research is of great significance. With the food security problem in China as the research object, through the combination of theoretical analysis, data analysis and empirical analysis on the current situation of China’s food safety and the ability and threat of China’s use of the international market to stabilize its food security, tries to give some advice for China to strengthen food security and promoting sustainable development of agricultural.Starting from the concept and goal of food security, this paper analyses the important factors that affect China’s food security, taking price fluctuation, self-sufficiency rate of grain, grain reserves, deviation degree of private price and society price, the number of grain imports accounted for the proportion of international trade and how much food imports accounted for the proportion of foreign exchange reserves as several important indexes for evaluating food security level, and then study the condition of China’s food safety problems in open economy: firstly, this article start with several aspects such as the core problems, stability and economy in the level of food security to analysis the situation of China’s food security, come to a conclusion that although China has maintain self-sufficiency, its level of food security is relatively high, but China has also paid a high resource cost and expenditure. Relying on domestic supply to meet the domestic demand is neither reality nor economy, making full use of the international market to protect national food security has become an inevitable trend; Secondly, in this paper, based on the analyzes of the international food trade patterns and status and also the ability of grain imports of China, we thought China’s imports of food is mainly used for the adjustment of varieties and quantities, and take utilization of quantitative and economic ability to protect national food security. Thirdly, this paper analyzed the threats of China’s use of the international market to ensure food security, argues that expanding imports is bound to strengthen the degree of how the international food prices affect domestic prices, the international price volatility will bring some risk for China’s food security, China need to establish the reasonable food import and export pattern; Finally, making comprehensive consideration of the above research, taking use of the experience of Japan and India’s food security strategy, this paper puts forward some suggestions as below: taking large domestic food companies as a link and buffer, connecting the domestic market and international market, build sustainable, stable and safe food supply network on a global scale, taking effective use of the international market to improve the comprehensive level of China’s food security.
