National Economic Development In Aba, Sichuan New Century

Since the beginning of the new century, the Aba County’s economy and trade could be seen as the economic development of whole Tibetan society in miniature. To further conduct research on it could not only help us to review the difficulties in the process of economic modernization in Tibetan areas but also could help us to enrich the knowledge about the socioeconomic research in the ethnic areas of Western China. The paper takes Aba County’s economy as a whole to conduct research on it from the combined perspective of economics and ethnology:the paper highly emphasizes the necessity of a sincere consideration on the issue of the development of the territorial ethnic minority in the process of socioeconomic development of the Aba County. It does a prospective study towards the development of basic trend of ethnic nationalities’ issue from the points of the Marxist theory on nationalities. In the new period of time, many new changes have taken place in the private economy of Aba County territory. Based on the private economy, the whole economy starts to enter into a new chapter in the territory. Studying these changes would help to promote a productive function for understanding the trend of economic development in the territory. In addition, it would have a significant meaning for promoting national unity and harmonious societal construction.First of all, this paper references a large body of literature, including books, journals and scholarly articles that related to the studies of Aba County’s economic development. This built a basic background knowledge and a theoretical foundation for the research on the economic development of the territory. In addition, the conversations with those private economic operators and field research in the territory contributed to a deeper knowledge to understand the difficulties that those individuals and small retailers faced in the market operation and analyze their causes. Finally, the research provides some direct pedagogical solutions and advices for developing economy in the Aba County territory.
