A Comparative Study Of Guandi Cultural Heritage Tourism Development Between Fujian And Taiwan Provinces

Guandi culture is an important part of folk belief studies of intangible cultural heritage, it is entrusted with the emotional worship of Chinese people, including loyalty, righteousness, braveness, filial piety and trust. Guandi cultural tourism provides the public with a good way to seek spiritual comfort and sustenance, and creates cultural space for tourists to further understand the cultural connotation of Guandi culture. The origin of Guandi culture between Fujian and Taiwan is deep, recent years, basing on large number of Guandi temples, tourism develops fast through cultural communication. However, both the mainland and Taiwan scholars do few studies about Guandi cultural tourism development, which is not good for the protection and development of Guandi culture of intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, basing on Guandi culture of Fujian and Taiwan related literature review and analysis, this paper takes the Guandi belief in intangible cultural heritage as an example, to promote the development of Fujian and Taiwan Guandi culture tourism with exploring the mode and strategy through the comparison of the present situation of tourism resources in Fujian and Taiwan Guandi culture, and hope it will be helpful for the development of folk belief of intangible cultural heritage tourism.Under the background that the Guandi believes and customs are recognized as state intangible cultural heritage by the State Council, and with many people from home and abroad believing in Guandi culture, this paper takes Dongshan Guandi Temple and Xinzhu Guandi Temple in Taiwan as a case for empirical study. This paper makes an conclusion of the developing pattern of Guandi cultural tourism basing on carding cultural factors that tourists are interested in by site interviews and questionnaires. Relevant conclusions are as follows:(1) As the culture field with researching on tourism development of intangible cultural heritage, its cultural connotation should be deeply excavated, so as to provide tourists with rich experience of culture. Therefore, in the development process of Fujian and Taiwan Guandi culture tourism, research on the connotation of Guandi culture should be paid much attention to, the development mode should be innovated basing on the what factors that tourists are interested in, thus creating good opportunities for the development of Fujian’s and Taiwan’s Guandi cultural tourism sites.(2) Guandi believes between Fujian and Taiwan shares the same origin, past tourism development mainly based on tourism events like Guandi Culture Tourism festivals, but the presentation and introduction of development and changes of Fujian’s and Taiwan’s Guandi history is little. Therefore, only by highlighting the Fujian’s and Taiwan’s characteristic in the developing patterns, enriching the development modes of tourism, can Fujian and Taiwan Guandi cultural tourism form their brand characteristics.(3) Temples, the bases of believes operating, are the interacting places between people. In the process of tourism development of Guandi culture, the construction of Guandi Temple cultures is very important. Temples should not only be regarded as the worshiping places, but also be studied on their architecture and transition histories, so as to agglomerate people to increase their cultural atmosphere.(4) As a part of folk belief researches, Fujian’s and Taiwan’s Guandi believes’ tourism development should have the feature of universality, which requires Fujian’s and Taiwan’s Guandi culture tourism have the vision of the world to develop tourism routes of Guandi culture and enrich tourist s’culture experience in different fields.
