Exploration On The Structure And Dimensions Of The Concept Of Spiritual Intelligence Based On The Grounded Theory

In recent years, management academic studies pay more attention to the exploration of psychological factors. Especially in human resource management, the research of employees’ mentality emerges in endlessly. Therefore, the concept of spiritual intelligence that western psychologists put forwarded attracts the management scholars’ attention. Spiritual intelligence is the ultimate intelligence of inner spiritual world which provides spiritual source to pursue meaning and value. The study of spiritual intelligence may help to understand the employee’s behavior and thoughts. It can also solve the existing problem of employees’ meaningless in our country enterprise.This paper firstly reviewed the proposed process and concept definition of spiritual intelligence, summarized the existing research achievements abroad in order to explore the individual spiritual intelligence in China. Based on grounded theory we applied qualitative interviews to collect datum. By open coding, axial coding and selective coding we obtained a four dimensional structure model of individual spiritual intelligence. The theoretical framework includes individual spiritual intelligence as the core category, the exterior realization, inherent realization, nature promotion and social promotion as the four main categories. The subsidiary categories includes individual cognition, material achievement, family thrive, attitude formation, emotional fulfillment, significance quest, image management, character shaping, environment cognition, beauty, production and creation, role play, emotional interaction, morality and national development. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, this paper developed the individual spiritual intelligence scale, using SPSS22.0 and AMOS22.0 to analyze data. Based on a valid sample size of 134, we applied reliability test and validity test to modify the scale. Formal questionnaire recovery of 384 valid sample, this paper verify the reliability of the grounded theory results by using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that the four dimensional model of spiritual intelligence is reasonable.Finally, the paper summarizes the study limitations and future research outlook. Follow-up studies can develop some studies more detailed and in-depth based on this conclusion. How to improve the individual spiritual intelligence, the relationship between SI and other variables are also the directions of further research.
