The sharp difference in the firms’ strategic response behavior under the specific institutional pressure, which is conflicted with the “Isomorphic Effect” of the “Institutional Iron Cage” inspires the theme of this paper: By building up the explain model of an firm’s strategic response behavior under the institutional pressure, thus further revealing the mechanismof differentiation in firms’ behavior.By reviewing the past researches, we find that the existing studies are limited by the assume of the overall characteristics of the institutions, the excessive dependence on the context and the lack of a systematic analysis framework, especially the excessive focus on the fore-end and the back-end of the institutional response strategy which calls for an enough attention to the “Black Box” between the institutions and the firm’ strategic response behaviors. In addition, the lack of an integrated model of multiple theories results to the weakness of its poor explanation. Based on these, this paper will make the deconstruction of the institution, and analysis the intermediate- mechanism between the institutional pressure and the firm’s strategi response through the theory integration, finally to build up the general and systemic explanation model. The main conclusions of the study includes:(1)The paper summed up that the response motivation and capacity of firm facing the institutional pressure, the resources and capacity ownedby the firm and the institution itself are the main factors to decide the firm’sresponse strategy;(2)The different dimensionsof the institution pressure and the relationship between them affect the firm’s response motivation, Besides that, the managerial cognition and the resources play moderating role;(3)The firm’s strategic response capacity depend on the resources and the capacity to itself. Moreover, the institutional pressure will play a moderating actor;(4)Coming up with a formal process model of an firm’s strategic response behavior under the institutional. On the whole, through a integrationof multiple theoretical perspectives, aiming to explore the "black box" between the institutional pressure exerted on an firm and its strategic response, which is not only a correspondence and enrichment to the existing strategic behavior theory, but also an enlightening attempt to integrate the existing strategic response study within the perspective of institution theory and thus leading the specific and scattered studiesto achieve a polymerizationto some extent, at the same time, the findings will show some guidances for the firm’s strategic decision, and also, inspire the institution supplier to map out more effective and efficient institutional arrangements.
