| Since joining the WTO, China’s insurance industry is developing rapidly. The social people’s insurance consciousness is more and more intense, the use of IT in the insurance industry has played a catalyst role. But at present, there is still much room for the development of information technology in the insurance industry, the maintenance costs is high and the investing is large. At the same time, the hardware resource can’t be utilized fully and effectively. The patterns of information technology is unsustainable which can’t meet the growing business needs of the insurance industry as well as the requirements of personalization, flexibility and the diverse functional requirements. It is difficult to get a good return for the investment of information technology.The rapid development of virtualization technology to provides a new solution perspective to solve the problems that exist in the insurance industry. Based on virtualization technology, the hardware resources of the insurance industry can be unified and integrated together, thus the utilization is improved, and the availability and fault tolerance are enhanced. As the virtualization technology is introduced, the cost of IT hardware and software insurance could be reduced significantly, the needs of the insurance industry information construction in various stages of development could be more flexible.The virtualization technology for the insurance industry provides a new information technology solutions to solve problems in the process of information construction. Based on the virtualization theory and technology, an insurance data center construction program is proposed, which includes the server planning, vCenter Server planning, ESXi host planning, cluster planning, network planning, clock synchronization, and storage planning and other aspects. The study has been applied in ChinaLife Insurance company Hebei branch. We hope that this program could be a reference for industry of other companies. |
