Under the background of economic globalization, Chinese contractors respond positively to the national "go globe" strategy, and has made great progress in the international engineering contracting market, among these EPC has become the main mode to explore international markets. The international EPC Projects brought huge profits to the contractors, however, it contains huge risks and have a high demand for contractors in the aspect of knowledge, experience, technology, management, finance, reputation and so on. Many failure cases of overseas projects show that Chinese EPC contractors still face many obstacles factors on the way to "go globe", such as lack of international compound talents, poor business management, inadequate laws and so on. Comprehensive and profound understanding of these obstacles factors is very important. At present, there are few domestic researches on the obstacles for our EPC contractors to "go globe", and the related problems are still not clear. From the perspective of the contractor, this research is aimed to offer a study of the obstacles factors for our EPC contractors to "go globe", focus on the key obstacle factors and their internal relationships, and gives the corresponding strategies. We sorted out 47 obstacle factors of our EPC contractors to "go globe" by means of literature review and expert interview. We extract key obstacle factors based on the factor analysis from 104 valid questionnaires. The study found that there are eight key obstacle factors, ranking by importance index are: talent and EPC functions, enterprise project management, risk factors and management, information and standards, enterprise management system, technology system, external environment factors and capital. These factors could be further attributed to the external environment factors, enterprise management system, enterprise functions service system, and enterprise project management.
