As with the improvement of productivity and the progress of social civilization, we are entering a society which is general leisure. There are lots of factors influence the development of a city and the all-round social progress, which include the growing people’s leisure demand, the higher requirements to daily leisure, and the leisure space layout is reasonable or not,etc. At the same time, for Xiamen city into the era of rail transit, how to make full ues of the opportunity brought by the rail transit development; how to reasonably planning the along recreational space layout; how to creat a harmonious leisure atmosphere and how to meet the people’s leisure demand, all have a great significance for Xiamen to promote the sustainable development between rail transits’ construction and urban recreational space layout. This thesis based on the theory of TOD, researchs two aspects of the leisure physical space(leisure supply) and the leisure behavior space(leisure demand) of Xiamen, and put forward the respective characteristics and problems reflected on their own space, and the optimizing suggestions, in order to achieve both a better fit, so that could have a rational distribution of urban leisure space. This thesis’ s structure mainly includes two parts.The first part, which mainly discusses bases theoretical research, including three chapters. The first chapter discusses the background, significance, content, method, technical route of research; the second chapter introduces the related theory foundation and the research progress both at home and abroad about the TOD and the urban recreational space; the third chapter proposes the layout mode of urban leisure space based on the macro,meso and micro TOD visual angle, in order to establish the logical structure and theoretical basis to analyze the Xiamen’s leisure space layout below in detail.The second part, which is detailed study about the Xiamen’s leisure space layout based on TOD develomepent mode, a total of five chapters. The fourth chapter, based on rail transit TOD mode, constructs the basic geographic information database of Xiamen leisure space, so that could provide the basis analysis data of leisure space point, line and surface elements; the fifth chapter from the perspective of urban leisure physical space, taking the third chapter of urban leisure space layout mode based on TOD as a logical clues, using GIS spatial analysis method, analyzes the present situation and problems of Xiamen’s leisure physical space layout from the TOD perspective of marco, meso and micro. The chapter six from the perspective of urban space of leisure behavior, analyzes the characteristics and regularity of Xiamen’s residents’ leisure behavior space; the seventh chapter proposed some optimization strategy to leisure space layout, based on the superposition analysis of the leisure physical space and leisure behavior space of Xiamen city; the last chapter for the article conalusion, research insufficient and its prospect.
