In the 1970 s,western scholars turned to society in the study of urban space and began to pay attention to the study of urban space from the social perspective.Since then,scholars at home and abroad have studied urban space from the social perspective.As the "largest port in the East" in the Song and Yuan Dynasties,Quanzhou is the starting point of the ancient maritime Silk Road in China.It is also known as "the cultural capital of East Asia".In 2018,"Ancient Quanzhou Historic Site" launched the World Cultural Heritage Project.Quanzhou ancient city is an important part of Quanzhou city development.Given the external migration of city administration and economic center,the outflow of population,and the obvious contradiction between the protection of ancient city and the development of modern city,it is significant to explore the future development of Quanzhou ancient city in the context of globalization.Based on the discipline of geography and sociology,this paper studies the development of urban leisure space in Quanzhou ancient city.Besides,in terms of Lefebvre's Space Production Theory,this paper also examines the influence of sojourner on the production of urban leisure space in Quanzhou ancient city.The study finds that with the changes of the times,social and economic development and urban construction and expansion,the development of leisure space in Quanzhou ancient city has obvious differences in different historical backgrounds of ancient and modern times.In recent years,the sojourners gathered and conducted production activities in the ancient city under the factors of landscape,human environment and so on.Its impacts on the production of leisure space in ancient city is mainly be embodied in the following aspects: from the view of space practice,the residents change the functional nature of the place by using the space of the original inhabitants of the ancient city.Residents also participate in the reconstruction of the landscape of the ancient city streets and lanes.From the view of spatial representation,the production and operation activities of the inhabitant groups increase the supply of leisure content in the ancient city.In the representation space,the production lifestyle and value concept of the settlers not only exert impact on production of the leisure space of the ancient city,but also promote the shaping of the leisure atmosphere of the ancient city,spread the local culture of southern Fujian,and create the common vision of the beautiful life of the ancient city.Under the increasingly active background of regional urbanization development and ancient city tourism and leisure activities,this paper chooses the case study of Quanzhou and examines production of urban leisure space in the ancient city from the perspective of the sojourner.
