A Research On Evaluation Of Coordinated Development Of Economy And Environment In Guizhou Province Based Onprincipal Component Analysis

Economic development brings with many ecological problems, and it has been one of the main concerns of scholars and governments in both foreign and domestic areas. China has achieved rapid economic development, since the reform and opening up, but along with it comes the environmental damage to a great extent. As one of the less developed provinces in western China, Guizhou Province has enjoyed fast economic growth in recent years. However, its destruction of the ecological environment has also become an unavoidable one. How to make the economy coordinate with environment has great practical significance not only to the sustainability of economic development in Guizhou Province and even the implementation of the western development strategy as a country.This paper introduces the background and significance of the coordination of economy and environmental development. Based on the research of domestic and foreign scholars, we first analyze the reality of economic and environmental development in Guizhou Province, and by constructing an economic and environmental development evaluation system, we use the principal component analysis to have a comprehensive appraisal of the economy and environmental development in Guizhou Province from 2003 to 2013, from which we draw line charts reflecting the corresponding changes of the comprehensive appraisal index of economic subsystem and environmental subsystems. We find out that from the past decade 2003-2013, the overall economy and environment in Guizhou Province present an improving trend, based on which we analyze the relative relationship between the two variables. By further applying the coordination model and the coordinated development degree model we evaluate the economic and environmental development in Guizhou Province from 2003 to 2013. We also use SPSS to make regression analysis to the comprehensive index of economic subsystem and the environmental, by its equation we are then able to forecast the coordination of 2014 and 2015 economic and environmental development in Guizhou Province.
