GPS Modularity, Modular Reintegrating Based On Patent Atlas Analysis And Its Enlightenment On Beidou Industry Development

Based on related GPS patent data of USA patent database in the GPS industry between 1984 and 2013, this paper calculated the elated indexes of patent center, central potential, and draw the patent citation relationship map with UCINET software, analysis internal relations between the patent trend and industrial expansion in the different stages of industrial development. Then use the modularity theory, with modularity and modular reintegrating as the logic clue, this paper studies the relationship between the modular development and industry capacity expansion. Establishing the mathematical model to explain the modularity and modular reintegrating, expansion module application areas are the three forces to promote industry capacity enlargement. The results of research show that GPS modularity, modular reintegrating and application expansion have the difference in the different development stages of the industry,In the initial period of industry, Modularity improves product value and reduces the price at the same time, drives the industry capacity expansion; in growth stage of industry, modular reintegrating improves the product profit and promote rapid development with the system integration and application integration of terminal services.To further stimulate the industry capacity expansion; in the mature stage of industry, module application expansion acts as the third element of industrial development integration of production technology through the standardization of building multi system compatible coexistence. The integration of industrial tentacles cross into other industries indirectly effects of industrial competition and enlarge the industrial scale in the ecological environment. Finally, combined with the development of GPS industry and the BDS industry existing in current period,analysis the problems in modularity and modular reintegrating, take the modularity and modular reintegrating as perspective,this paper puts forward the corresponding policy suggestions on the development of the Beidou industry.
