The design and investigate companies are different from other manufacturing companies. Moreover, the performance of the design and investigate companies is composed of multiple engineering projects. Besides, the performance of the staff is also measured by the projects. For a long time, the standard of the Human Resource Management is designed for the manufacturing enterprises. There is few standard for the design and investigate companies. Therefore, it is of vital significance to innovate the operational system and mechanisms of the company. Since the reform and the opening up of China, many investigate and design companies set out to promote the institutional reform and find ways to transform and upgrade their business. Moreover, it is also important to develop the training and the arrangement of the workers according to the demand of the program. Last but not the least, the company should implement accurate performance evaluation and proper reward.In this trend, many enterprises have realized that it is important to develop and undertake the performance appraisal system. Because it can improve the company’s performance, enhance the company’s core competitiveness and achieve the company’s strategic objectives. What’s more, for the employees, applying the systematic, correct, fair ways to test the staff not only can improve the employees’ motivation, but also can improve the efficiency of the enterprises, enhance their market competitiveness and achieve the enterprises’ strategic goals.In this paper, Chinese exploration companies as the research object, the company aims to establish a set of status quo, to promote the development of Chinese exploration company performance appraisal system. Firstly, the use of advanced human resource theory, the Chinese company’s human resource management survey to analyze the situation, analyze the company performance appraisal system problems, as well as cause of the problem. On this basis, starting from the employee’s job responsibilities, work-depth analysis to determine the principles and standards of performance appraisal, performance appraisal system proposed design. In the design process, this paper based on the company’s strategic objectives, the target into specific indicators, key indicators through 360-degree performance appraisal method and the method to establish a performance evaluation system, with its reach to mobilize the enthusiasm of employees, improve business efficiency and achieve business the role of strategic objectives. It should be noted that, in the Chinese exploration companies, the high-level performance evaluation by the board to complete, so this paper studied the performance appraisal system for the Chinese exploration company within the meaning of middle managers and ordinary employees.
