Land consolidation, one of the land use projects, takes the way of changing and adjusting land use as its main content. By applying systems of scheme, approval, organization, coordination, supervising and controlling, using the means of economy, engineering technology, law and administration, a series of activities for decision guiding, scheme coordination and standard management and technology service are formed to protect cultivated land, build new countryside and plan the development of the urban-rural interactions as a whole by the interaction of government, society, rural collective economy organization and farmer. The strategic decision is made in accordance with current national economy development and the situation of resource environment, which is also significant for dynamic balance of total cultivated land, planning he urban-rural interactions as a whole and developing new countryside in socialism society.With more than ten years’ development, land consolidation has accumulated a wealth of information resources, including policies and systems management requirements, technical specifications, project construction, scientific and technological research, which has formed a large-scale, multi-disciplinary integration, multi-category knowledge of information resources system. It is a basis on information share, information exchange and information integration to classify land consolidation information scientifically. However, because of the lack of centralized and normative guidance, some common phenomena exist for difficulty in information exchange and share, vague definition for data and overlapping category. In order to adapt connotation expansion of land consolidation and transform of management system and construction way, it is necessary to build a way for information classification of land consolidation to specify information achievement, statistics, analysis, management and use of land consolidation.Currently, special research on information classification of land consolidation is still blank in academic circle. Based on the analysis on connotation, elements and classification targets of land consolidation, through systemic deconstruction, starting from Hall-3D structure theory, project management theory and ecological information theory respectively, organizational model of land consolidation is discussed, the fundamental principles and methods for information classification of land consolidation are advanced. At the same time. Basic frame for information classification of land consolidation is built from attribute dimension, information dimension, space-time dimension and the content from multilevel system of each dimension is confirmed. The research conclusion goes as follows:First of all, land consolidation is the total of "physical form" of consolidation information and the external environmental information of technology,policy, management. "Physical form" is the carrier of land parcel and project construction content.Furthermore, land consolidation information is interdisciplinary resource system integration. It will be more systematic and complete to analyze and conclude land consolidation information from different dimensions, which also can reduce information to lose as far as possible.Last but not least, as pattern differed in emphasis and characteristics, the classification result of land consolidation would be different in different dimensions, including physical classification system and feature classification system. By combining physical and feature to form composite catalogue, the separation of physical and feature can be avoided availably and the overall perspective of land consolidation information also can be showed effectively.The research shows that this classification can reflect the overall perspective information of land consolidation roundly; it also helps to reveal the administrative levels and features of land consolidation information. It is a reference for promoting the management transition of land consolidation information and enhancing the sharing and using of information resources.
