Along with our country and even the global auto industry’s rapid development, China diesel engine industry is developing rapidly,especially the small diameter multi-cylinder enterprise, and it has entered the time of competition between YNDL and Commins at present. In order to compete in the market, enterprises must improve their core competitiveness continuously, own clear strategic objectives and efficient execution of human resources. The middle-level managers is to which a very important group, among them between upper and lower level managers, and play a key role of a connecting link between the preceding and the following in enterprise management. They not only have to carry out the strategic intent of the executive level and transform them into concrete action policy, but undertake a large number of specific management. The quality and the performance of their work are directly related to the enterprise of vital importance.From the above, this article will take the YNDL company middle managers as the research object, according to the performance appraisal theory research and the application of designing process, based on the research and analysis of the YNDL company’s original middle management staff KPI assessment system, through the existing data and questionnaire survey analysis, and find the main problems of the company middle managers KPI assessment. Based on the company strategy, job analysis, department responsibility, management objectives, etc., the optimization design of the YNDL company’s middle managers personnel KPI evaluation index, and we develop a KPI assessment management practices. In addition, in order to ensure the smooth operation of the performance evaluation system, the corresponding measures are put forward, and the specific conclusions are drawn, which lays the foundation for the company to improve the performance appraisal system of middle managers.
