Studies Of Wenzhou’s Rural Urbanization Driven By The Private Economy

The 30 years of reform and opening up have seen a rapid development of the private economy in Wenzhou. In this period,the private economy first appeared and became stronger,which have played an important role in Wenzhou’s social economy of different aspects. The rural urbanization is included. From 1978 to 1991,the number of Wenzhou’s town is increased from 18 to 121 and it’s population increased from 0.325 million to 2.6 million.based on the second and third industry. Such kinds of fast development is rare to see in china. During the period of 1992 to 1999, The quality of Wenzhou’s town has increased gradually.Under the government’ s planning,the 30 famous strong town have emerged.The construction of the town’s infrastructure such as water,electronic,road have increased gradually.and the science education culture health career have been developed,so does the residents’ living quality. In the period of 2000 to 2008, As the private economy around the country have increased quickly,the first-mover advantage of Wenzhou’s private economy is becoming increasingly weaken.Thus the government exerted subjective initiative aiming at the “strong town” strategy to push forward the industrial upgrading and to expand the regional area.Through such actions.the construction of Wenzhou’s small town have been advanced further,so does it’s quality. As a result, a large number of strong town have appeared.The rural urbanization pushed by the private economy is accompanied by the peasant’s industrial transformation, the emerging and development of the enterprises, as well as the transformation of government’s function. It is a spontaneous process in the first period. And later gradually developed upon the planning of government. As the peasants、the enterprises and the governments are three market participants of the private economy. Thus,this essay will review the past 30 years of Wenzhou’ s urbanization process after reform and opening up based on the analysis of the three market participants. The second period is the one which attaches great importance to the town’s quality improvement and the third period is to make strong town. Then,it uses different theories to analyze the three market subjects’ impact to the urbanization as well as the radical cause of this process. With the expectation of making little contributions to the less developed regions.
