By employing qualitative methods,this paper mainly studied the mechanism of the urbanization of Longgang Town,a type of in situ urbanization.The urbanization of Longgang town was driven by folk power,which is embedded in the social structure.From the perspective of the internal groups,early Longgang town mainly relies on the development of private enterprises,non-agricultural collective economy and local clan associations.During the urbanization,private enterprises played the most significant role as the main force,the main source of capital and industrial basis,facilitating population aggregation and town territory expansion.Built upon land compensation of five villages of Longgang Town,non-agricultural collective economy successfully provides sustainable income for villagers and prevents labor and brain drain,which is a special way of promoting villager's urbanization.Regarding cultural life and solidarity in villages,the clan association though reflects a traditional local clan culture,functions as a strong bonding among villagers.Its existence is a symbol of the continuity of social relations among people.In sum,this paper has analyzed the specific effects of these three factors on the urbanization of Longgang and how these three factors adapted with the continuous development of social economy.This paper is mainly divided into three parts.The first part shows the research background and literature review.The second part elaborates the embeddedness characteristics of Longgang urbanization.The third part focuses on these three factors about how they promoted the urbanization and changes happened in trends.
