In view of the Non-R&D innovation, this research tries to discover the process, organization and mode of core competitive advantage construction for the small and Medium EMS enterprises. Firstly, by reviewing the related literature, the research analyzes and summarizes the success factors of HANA’s core competitive advantage construction in the view of 5W1H. And it finds that, in the inner drive of entrepreneurship and outer drive of market, customer and competition demand (Why), and with the guarantee of corporate culture and talent training system (How), the small and medium EMS enterprises without R&D innovation capability, can gain core competitive advantage and has higher customer satisfaction and profitability through carrying out Non-R&D innovation activities in customer positioning (Who), service content (What), service opportunity (When) and organization mode (Where) within enterprise strategy. Secondly, based on competitive advantage and Non-R&D innovation theory, the research analyzes the logic relations of the success factors of core competitive advantage construction to build up the theory model of Hana’s core competitive advantage construction. Then it explains and verifies the theory model effective with Hana’s SYN project.The theory mode of core competitive advantage construction considers the operating features of the small and medium EMS enterprises, and it does a 5W1H analysis on how the Non-R&D innovation behaviors construct core competitive advantage in the enterprises strategic process, which makes up the limitation of previous mono-angle study. At the same time, the theory mode also makes it more clear the strategic innovation behaviors, inner and outer drives, guarantee mechanism, and the logic relations between results of behaviors and competitive advantage. It also lists and details the all dimension of 5W1H, which makes up the defects of less target and hard operation in practice for previous theory mode. Furthermore, the research proposes to evaluate enterprises core competitive advantage from two aspects: enterprise’s profitability, customer satisfaction degree, which is quite practicable. At last, the research draws a conclusion and proposal which can be theoretical and practical reference for the researchers of Non-R&D innovation theory, core competitive advantage construction theory and for the small and Medium EMS enterprises without R&D innovation ability.
