Under the background of the market is becoming more and more turbulence, and uncertainty, employees have to respond quickly to environmental changes. At the same time, it is difficult to deal with the problem with copying the previous measures as the complexity of the problem. In summary, under the present market background, employees must continually improve their improvisation ability to deal with the changes from internal and external of enterprise. Traditional office software, such as e-mail and OA system, improve the efficiency of the office in some extent, but they are still not enough to carrying out real-time discussion and collaboration. The enterprise social media platform, as a new kind software which is characterized by "integrating social elements into office system" or "applying social software under office scene", provide the possibility to enhance the ability of improvisation.Microsoft spent$1.2 billion to merge yammer which is a popular enterprise social media platform. Kingdee, a large domestic software service provider fully committed to the promotion of the application of enterprise social media platform named "Cloud House". A series of actions acted by the large domestic and foreign IT companies caused researchers begin to focus on this field. At present, some scholars have attempted to define the enterprise social media platform. Some research and analysis have been discussed the role of enterprise social media platform to enterprise’ agility. But the existing research is so simple that it has not yet clear answer the key issues such as what are the key features of enterprise social media platform and how to enhance the improvisation ability through enterprise social media platform.This paper focused on the above problems intently. First, this paper explicated the research status through the research of theoretical literature. Then, the core features of enterprise social media platform and the mechanism model of the enterprise social media platform enhancing the employee’s improvisation ability were putted forward. Finally, the theoretical model is tested by the large sample statistics. Overall, the conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) Accessibility, sociability and interactivity are three key technical features of enterprise social media platform;The research about the value of information technology is mainly through the view of technical characteristics. Based on the four affordance of enterprise social media platform -visibility、editability、persistence and association, this paper explicated the three key technical features of enterprise social media platform-accessibility, sociability and interactive, through exploratory case study. Accessibility describes the feature that users can access information about work through enterprise social media platform, it is corresponding with visibility and persistence. Sociability describes the feature that enterprise social media platform provides social space for users, it is corresponding with association. Interactivity describes the feature that enterprise social media platform affords users editing content, it is corresponding with editability.(2) These three key technical features impact positively employee’s improvisation ability through on-line social network;Employee deal with the event of improvisation frequently requires the assistance of other people, so the social network of the employee has an important impact on their improvisation ability. In this paper, we find that the network size and relationship strength of employee online social networks have a positive impact on the dimensions of employee’s improvisation.Because of enterprise social media platform is integrated of social and other elements, it may have a certain impact on the user’s social network. In this paper, we find that the enterprise social media platform has a certain effect on the formation of the online social network. Accessibility has a positive effect on the network size and network heterogeneity; interactivity has a positive effect on the trust of relationship and strength of relationship; sociability has a positive effect on network size and trust of relationship.(3)The organizational feature of behavioral integration play a moderate role on the relationship that enterprise social media platform affecting the employee’s on-line social network.Information technology is only a kind of technology; the role of information technology is mainly influenced by the environmental characteristics, so this article will conduct a study of the characteristics of the organization. This study found that the behavior integration play a positive impact on the relationship of sociability impacting network size and relationship trust, that means that the higher the behavior integration in organization the sociability of enterprise social media platform has a more positive impacting on user’s network size and relationship strength.
