High-tech industry is the strategic leading industry of the national economy, which plays an important role in the adjustment of industrial structure and the transformation of economic development mode. In recent ten years, China has been actively involved in the process of economic globalization. High-tech industry has been among the world’s top. But from the perspective of quality, there are many outstanding problems in the process of high-tech industry. Though the development of high-tech industry has many quantitative advantages, the R&D intensity is far behind the developed countries.The industry’s independent innovation capability and core technology is not obvious.Based on the above analysis, this paper uses the theory of industrial economics,technology innovation and econometrics, and the combination of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, to study the impact of technology innovation on the competitive advantage of high-tech industries.Firstly, this paper reviews the main literature on the relationship between technology innovation and industrial competitive advantage in the aspects of foreign and domestic, theoretical and empirical aspects. Secondly, it clarifies the concepts of technology innovation and industrial competitive advantage and the measurement index theory. Thirdly, it analyzes the mechanism of technology innovation on the industrial competitive advantage, and summarizes the two influence path of technology innovation on the industrial competitive advantage. Then, from the high-tech industry as a whole and the sub sectors, the use of multiple total and quality indicators to analyze the present situation of China’s high-tech industry technology innovation and industrial competitive advantage. At last, the influence of technology innovation on competitive advantage of high-tech industry is tested by the high-tech industry data of 1995-2013 in China. The conclusion is that the intensity of R&D funds, the number of per capita number of applications and the financial support of the government have a positive impact on the improvement of the competitive advantages of high tech industries, while the intensity of R&D has a negative effect on the promotion of high technology industry competitive advantage. According to the conclusion, we give some suggestions on how to speed up technology innovation and enhance the competitive advantage of ourcountry.There are two innovation parts :Firstly, in the aspect of theoretical research, this paper puts forward the competitive advantage model of high-tech industry based on Potter’s "Diamond Model" and analyzes the three main factors that affect the competitive advantage of high-tech industry: the advanced production factors, technological innovation activities and the demand of high-tech products, and analyzes the path of technological innovation and technological innovation.Secondly, about the selection of technological innovation indicators, this paper considers the two aspects of input and output, the patent output indicators as an important indicator to consider., the macro economic reality is considered when we study the impact of technology innovation on the competitive advantage of high-tech industry in this paper. It is found that the intensity efficiency of R&D funds lagged behaves better than the current period, while the number of patents per capita and the lag of government financial support is not obvious, which makes the research of this paper more practical.
