Isolation mechanism is a research frontier in the field of strategic management, it occurs for solving the problem of enterprise sustainable development under the condition of dynamic complex competition. The external environment changes more and more intense with the economic globalization and the further development of the economy in our country. Enterprise faced with more uncertainty and dynamic complex situation, how to establish enterprise isolation mechanism to match the complex environmental change has become one of the biggest challenges nowadays.Existing research on isolation mechanism mainly focused on the concept classification, influence factors, etc. The research on the relationship between isolation mechanism and competitive advantage is the most popular, mainly divided into three perspectives.One is based on the perspective of resource-based view, the second is based on the ability to view point of view and the third one is from the perspective of knowledge view. But the above three views are all built on competition theory. On the other hand, some scholars explore the relationship between co-opetition theory and isolation mechanism, demonstrates the isolation mechanism generates the non-contractual co-opetition effect. Without any cooperation contract, rivals can achieve the cooperation result objectively. The problem this paper discusses is the analysis frame and mechanism of action of isolation mechanism under this framework.In this paper, the research content mainly includes the following several parts:Firstly, build the analysis framework of non-contractual co-opetition effect.We research a major rival in the PC industry——Lenovo and Dell for case study. First analyzes the differential advantage of Lenovo and Dell, and then discusses the cooperation effect due to market competition, finally come to the conclusion that without any contractual agreement, Lenovo and Dell reach three competition effect——to expand the market, stronger industry and improving customer value. On this basis, combining with the existing theory of isolation mechanism research, constructing the analysis framework of non-contractual co-opetition effect.Secondly, found the form model of dynamic isolation mechanism.Through the logical deduction combined with case analysis, put forward the form model of dynamic isolation mechanism. Isolation mechanism changes with dynamic environment, the mobile barriers of knowledge, the imitation barriers and fist-mover advantages are three kinds of power to promote the development of enterprise progress. These three forces exist between a relationship of dynamic enhancement.Thirdly, put forward the functional mechanism of dynamic isolation mechanism.Non-contractual co-opetition effect is actually the effect of isolation mechanism based on differential advantage. After building the rational analysis framework, analyzing the differential advantage of Lenovo and Dell——channel management and direct sales model, dividing into four stages of the function of dynamic isolation mechanism, including the changes of cognitive and organizational behavior, resources integration and setting up process, choosing and refactoring, finally form the differential advantage. This is a feedback loop process.Fourth, summarize the power and resistance of isolating mechanism.By summarizing and refining the whole developing process of Lenovo and Dell, find the important role of entrepreneurship and organizational innovation, at the same time, heterogeneous isomorphism pressure and organizational inertia can play a role of resistance.
