Research on land use change is the important part of sustainable development, and is also a pilot and a hot topic of global change research, which has become one of the pioneers in the field of modern geography. In the development of society, the natural factors, social factors, especially the impact of human factors, cause the land use change problem. Therefore, learning regional land use structure and the status quo timely, and focus on the subject of the central goal——the driving forces of land use change, and then analyze and study the situation of land cover change and development, which contribute to the coordinated development of regional population, resources, and environment. That could deepen the land planning and management, explore the development of land policy, and ensure the sustainable utilization of land resources, which is of great significance.Based on the analysis and the study of domestic and foreign researches, this paper selected Mianzhu as the study area. According to 2001-2011 years of social and economic statistical data of Mianzhu, the new classification standard, and method and combination of qualitative and quantitative, analyzed the land use structure change and the advantages and disadvantages of Mianzhu. The results were as follows:(1) Greatly change in Mianzhu of different types of land use in 2001-2011, forest land, grassland decreased, which turned into garden land. Forest, grassland, water and unused land all decreased in 2001-2011. The forest area decreased most, which decreased 4508.65 hm2, and unused land reduced the smallest, which decreased 564.42 hm2. The cultivated land, garden land, residential and industrial land and transportation land area were added, and the residential and industrial land increased most, which increased 5335.38 hm2; the cultivated land area added the smallest, which increased 641.58 hm2.(2) During 2001-2011, dynamic change of land-use of Mianzhu was obvious. The results reflected that agricultural land and construction land changed greatly. The woodland, grassland, water area and unused land area decreased 87.55、18.94、7.24 and 5.83, respectively; garden land, traffic land, residential and industrial land and cultivated land area increased 107.45、106.11、51.34 and 1.92, respectively. At the same time, the degree of characteristics showed that Mianzhu land use degree was at moderate level, and depth and breadth of the land use should be further strengthened.(3) Through the analysis of driving forces in Mianzhu city in 2001-2011, the main driving factor of land use was social and cultural factors. Through the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, showed that the degree of social development and the size of the population were the main driving factors of the cultivated land structure change; regional economic development level and industry structure were the decisive driving factors to influence the change of construction land structure.
